Digital Hub FrankfurtRheinMain e.V. since 2011
The Digital Hub is a regional interest group for the digital sector, bringing together everyone from infrastructure suppliers and service providers to users and representatives of the science sector.
It is a cross-sectoral initiative that fosters interdisciplinary interaction. The Digital Hub provides services and expertise in order to support the market players within the digital sector, optimise their market situation and promote their business – it is help for the sector directly from the sector.
The Digital Hub establishes Frankfurt am Main as a place of excellence for providers and users of the European telecom and Internet sector.
Digital Hub FrankfurtRheinMain e.V. was jointly founded by ancotel GmbH, DE-CIX Management GmbH, FIZ Frankfurter Innovationszentrum Biotechnologie GmbH, Infraserv GmbH & Co. Höchst KG, Interxion Deutschland GmbH, NRM Netzdienste Rhein-Main GmbH, Wirtschaftsförderung Frankfurt GmbH, the Goethe University and the INM (Institute for New Media).
BITKOM since 2010
BITKOM, the German Federal Association for Information Technology, Telecommunications and New Media, represents more than 1,350 companies, of which over 1,000 are direct members with joint turnover of 135 billion euros and 700,000 employees. Its members include suppliers of software, IT services, telecom and Internet services, manufacturers of hardware and consumer electronics, and digital media companies.
MEF since 2008
The MEF, the defining body for Carrier Ethernet, is a global industry alliance comprising more than 150 organisations including telecommunications service providers, cable MSOs, network equipment/software manufacturers, semiconductor vendors and testing organisations. The MEF’s mission is to accelerate the worldwide adoption of carrier-class Ethernet networks and services. The MEF develops Carrier Ethernet technical specifications and implementation agreements to promote interoperability and the deployment of Carrier Ethernet worldwide.
OSS/ICDS since 2008
The OSS/ICDS Forum is an independent forum of international telecom operators committed to improving and standardising the procedures for the implementation of IPLC between member companies. The OSS/ICDS Forum has grown to 68 members since 1989, providing OSS services to customers throughout the world. The OSS/ICDS Forum is open for membership to any licensed international telecom operator with ownership of their own international cable facilities, or satellite earth stations providing IPLC services to end user customers on a correspondent half or full-circuit basis. The members of the forum are represented by carriers from Asia, Australia, Africa, Europe and the Americas. The membership is growing year by year.
eco-Verband since 2006
eco - Verband der deutschen Internetwirtschaft e.V. (association of the German Internet industry) sees its remit as being representing the interests of and promoting businesses that generate value added with or on the Internet. It represents businesses in the world of politics, promotes communication between the individual market participants, and helps them to market their products.
ENPM since 2005
The European Network Planning Meeting (ENPM) has been held at a different location every year since 1992. The purpose of the meeting is to plan the European network structure and share information relating to the topic of interconnection. Those in attendance discuss technical innovations, newly developed standards, trends and the latest requirements, and share their experience in this field. ancotel GmbH, the operator of Europe’s largest and most important telecommunications and data network node, hosted the 2010 ENPM in Frankfurt am Main.
